For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to Artist’s Alley LLC include https://artistsalley.net and Artist’s Alley. The Artist’s Alley website is an ecommerce site. By using the Artist’s Alley website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

Collection of your personal information

We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store. In order to better provide you with products and services offered, Artist’s Alley may collect personally identifiable information, such as your: First and Last Name, Mailing Address, E-mail Address.

If you purchase Artist’s Alley’s products and services, we collect billing and credit card information. This information is used to complete the purchase transaction.

 If you create, submit, import, save, or publish Event, Venue, or Organizer information, such information is retained in the local database:

  1. Venue information: name, address, city, country, state, postal code, phone, website, geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude)
  2. Organizer information: name, phone, website, email
  3. Event information: website, cost, description, date, time, image

We make use of certain APIs, in order to provide specific features. These APIs may include the following third party services: Google Maps (API key), Meetup (OAuth token), PayPal (email, Client ID, Client Secret), Eventbrite (API key, auth URL, Client Secret), and Zoom (email, Client ID, Client Secret).

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through Artist’s Alley’s public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others.

 We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services. These may include: (a) registering for an account; (b) entering a sweepstakes or contest sponsored by us or one of our partners; (c) signing up for special offers from selected third parties; (d) sending us an email message; (e) submitting your credit card or other payment information when ordering and purchasing products and services. To wit, we will use your information for, but not limited to, communicating with you in relation to services and/or products you have requested from us. We also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.

Use of Your personal information

Artist’s Alley collects and uses your personal information to operate and deliver the services you have requested.

 While you visit our site, we’ll track:

  • Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
  • Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
  • Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!

 When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings

If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 10 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Security of your Personal Information

Artist’s Alley secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Artist’s Alley uses SSL Protocol for this purpose. 

When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.

 We strive to take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or alteration of your personal information. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, you acknowledge that: (a) there are security and privacy limitations inherent to the Internet which are beyond our control; and (b) security, integrity, and privacy of any and all information and data exchanged between you and us through this Site cannot be guaranteed.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Children under 13

 Artist’s Alley does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.

 Artist’s Alley may keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within Artist’s Alley, in order to determine what Artist’s Alley services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within Artist’s Alley to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area. 

Automatically Collected Information 

Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by Artist’s Alley. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Artist’s Alley website.

Email Communications

From time to time, Artist’s Alley may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication.

 If you would like to stop receiving marketing or promotional communications via email from Artist’s Alley, you may opt out of such communications by replying “STOP” or “clicking on the UNSUBSCRIBE button.

Who we share your data with

Artist’s Alley does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.

Artist’s Alley may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of external business partners about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. We accept payments through Stripe and Square. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to these companies, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

 Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will delete your personal information from our records; and direct any service providers to delete your personal information from their records.   • Otherwise use your personal information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which you provided the information.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We may store your data on servers provided by third party hosting vendors with whom we have contracted.

Artist’s Alley reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your account, by placing a prominent notice on our website, and/or by updating any privacy information. Your continued use of the website and/or Services available after such modifications will constitute your: (a) acknowledgment of the modified Privacy Policy; and (b) agreement to abide and be bound by that Policy.
